This has been a terrific year for Hofstra University and the Lawrence Herbert School of Communication. We greatly appreciate all of the hard work and support of our students, faculty, alumni, administrators, staff and the greater Hofstra community. 2013 was highlighted by the naming of our school, the successful launch of a graduate program in Public Relations, a fourth consecutive year of WRHU Radio Hofstra being the flagship station of the New York Islanders, being recognized as one of the top 17 colleges/universities for sports broadcasting, successfully producing the 12th Annual Friends of Max Kolb Telethon (to its highest viewership ever), launching Required Radio (a 24/7 alternative music and arts internet radio station created by the Radio Program), hosting PRSSA’s Picture Perfect PR: Framing in the Digital Age conference, as well as the McCormack funded Covering Suburban Poverty conference and so much more! Not to mention, the numerous accomplishments of our students, faculty, and alumni that took place over the course of the last twelve months. With our outstanding faculty, facilities, location and the most dedicated and passionate students and alumni out there, I believe that the best is yet to come. I wish you all a wonderful and safe holiday season and a very happy new year. See you in 2014!
